Automatic disconnection after twelve hours

From today, Collaborate will automatically disconnect all users after the session has been open for twelve hours.

Blackboard now assumes that those people in the session are there unintentionally. If they need to reconnect, they can do so.

Those in the session will be warned that it is about to end:

They will then be able to reconnect to the session, if required.

Based on feedback to the Blackboard Community Site (registration required), the cut off time was changed from eight hours to twelve.

In an later release, the duration will be cut but there will be an option for moderators to extend the session.

There’s more information on the Collaborate Release Notes.
